| What is VEISHEA? | |
VEISHEA is an annual celebration held at Iowa State each spring, and one of its oldest traditions. It serves as a showcase and display of the Iowa State community with a wide variety of educational and entertainment events. |

| What does "VEISHEA" stand for? | |
VEISHEA was named in 1922 by Professor Frank D. Paine, Department of General Engineering. He combined the first letters of the colleges at that time, and the name has stuck ever since. The word VEISHEA (pronounced "VEE-sha") stands for:

| Is alcohol allowed? | |
All VEISHEA events are alcohol free events. Moreover, alcohol consumption is not allowed on campus as a part of normal University alcohol policy. |

| How are the VEISHEA committees structured? | |
VEISHEA is organized in three parts. There are two General co-chairs, an Executive Board, and committees. The General co-chairs chair the Executive Board and oversee the VEISHEA committees. The executive board is made up of the chairs of each of the 16 VEISHEA committees - Entertainment, Public Relations, Parade, etc. |

| When is VEISHEA 2011? | |
VEISHEA 2011 will be held the week of April 11 - April 17, 2011.

| Do I need to get permission to use the word VEISHEA or any of the VEISHEA marks on my shirt/brochure/etc.? | |
Yes. The VEISHEA word mark has been federally registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office since January 19, 1988 and is owned by VEISHEA, Inc. The VEISHEA Office protects, promotes and markets the VEISHEA mark. Our mission is to ensure proper use and application of the mark, in order to strengthen the mark through relationships with campus units, student organizations, alumni, and fans. Iowa State University's Trademark Licensing Office maintains the federal registration as a service to VEISHEA, Inc. and assists in administering use. To use the VEISHEA mark, VEISHEA, Inc requires the use of Iowa State University licensed vendors and the approval by VEISHEA, Inc. Student Organizations and university units wanting to have product produced with the VEISHEA mark may use the ISU Trademark Licensing Office's on-line trademark use form to submit a request and design. TheTrademark Office will obtain approval from the appropriate VEISHEA staff and notify all parties electronically through the on-line system. | When is VEISHEA 2010? | |
VEISHEA 2010 will be held the week of April 12-18, 2010. |

| When is the VEISHEA Parade? | |
The parade will start at about 10:40 A.M. on Saturday, April 17th, and last approximately 2 hours. |

| Can I reserve seats for the parade? | |
Reserved seats for the parade are not available. |

| Who can participate in VEISHEA tournaments? | |
Anyone! VEISHEA Tournaments are open to students, alumni, staff/faculty, and community members. |
